The Vehicle Dynamics CAE Group is responsible for developing excellent driving characteristics for all Volvo cars. We perform concept development, verification and support industrialization for all vehicle programs. We carry out simulation and development of ride, handling and steering attributes on component, system and full vehicle level. The team makes use of multiple simulation disciplines including Multi-Body-Simulation (Adams/Car), Software-In-the-Loop and Real-Time subjective assessments in our dynamic driving simulator. We work closely with surrounding attribute teams as well as design teams creating a dynamic work environment with a clear impact on future Volvo cars.
What's in it for you?
As Vehicle Dynamics Driving Simulator Engineer you will be a key member of our driving simulator team focusing on tools and methods for real-time simulation. You will be a part of our long term goal to maintain in the forefront of driving simulator usage by continuous improvement of hardware, software and methods. By this recruitment we want to strengthen our CAE capabilities in optimizing the chassis dynamics through the use of active control systems and how they are to be optimally tuned in combination with the design of the chassis. Hence, we are looking for you that have a sincere interest in and understanding of control systems and vehicle/mechanical dynamics.
What you'll do
* Prepare testing and develop methods for driving simulator studies
* Facilitate driving simulator studies for multiple Volvo departments
* Develop software tools for chassis development in our driving simulator by scripting
* Carry out real-time simulation and optimization of chassis control systems
* Communicating vehicle project deliveries
Do you fit the profile?
* Master of Science or higher education. Preferably in Engineering Physics, Mechatronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
It is meritorious if you have CAE experience in the field of Vehicle Dynamics, experience with simulation software such as VI-CarRealTime, CarMaker, Adams/Car and Simulink. If you also have experience in programming, simulation of control systems and/or driving simulators and proficiency in scripting using C/C++, Python and/or Matlab, that would be to your advantage.
We are looking for a team member who is enthusiastic and progressive. You have good communication skills are a strong interest in cars and technology.
