Are you passionate about users and analyzing human behaviors? Would you like to work within product development and further enhance the understanding of our consumers when designing our future products? We are looking for a User Researcher to join our U.S.E.R team at the Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Product Validation & Function Architecture is a department within Research & Development at Volvo Cars, with the purpose to enable and confirm consumer value. The User Story and Empathy Research (U.S.E.R) team is a part of this department, with the purpose to understand and identify user's needs, pains, and pleasures by performing qualitative research on consumers. We use these insights to further improve our products and services within entire Research & Development area.
What you'll do
As User Researcher your main responsibilities will be to:
• Conduct and lead user research and test activities within our co-development fleet (mainly our company cars) and use a variety of qualitative and a subset of quantitative methods to validate our products and services.
• Use your knowledge and expertise within user experience, interaction design and usability to support app development. The app in question is used to get feedback from the users in the co-development fleet.
• Communicate and visualize user needs and behaviors and facilitate collaboration activities.
• Work in an agile development environment where you will act as an evangelist for user centered design and consumer value.
• Present the results in an easily accessible/understandable way.
• Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business decisions.
You and your skills
We see that you have a MSc Degree in a relevant area (i.e., Design Ethnography, Industrial Design, User Experience) or equivalent expertise. Is natural for you to meet and create trust with consumers from your previous work with user research. To fully understand the real-world usage of our product, we see that you have a driver license (B). You also need to be fluent in English. A strong business acumen and experience within the agile way of working is meritorious.
On a personal level, you are an easy going and open-minded team player with strong verbal and communication skills. You have a passion for our consumer and for analyzing human behaviors, and one of your drivers is to identify insights and to use these to generate consumer value and subsequently increase their satisfaction.
