HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures, and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances, for power transmission via submarine cables and to connect power systems. The Global SCM organization delivers value and service to HVDC's large infrastructure projects around the world. In your new role you may expect many interfaces, several projects and tenders in parallel with different requirements from several stakeholders where going extra mile is the key for the success and collaboration. As a consequence, flexibility, being agile and adaptation are the keys but position the role within the specific and various Project organizations, understanding when being firm is imperative.
Your responsibilities
As Transport and Logistics Specialist you will develop, plan and implement Transport and Logistics strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality and delivery. Implementing a Just-in-Time mindset in our way of working is a key-factor for success
You will be responsible for transport feasibility, transport budget, transport RFQ and contracting for our projects worldwide. This is essential due to that the transport and logistical impact is high on HVDC projects result
Cross-functional work is needed in great extent to create Risk Analyze-Mitigation cases, support the design of HVDC sites, support and be active part on transport schedule
You will be engaged in creating good relationships that will develop both Hitachi Energy and our suppliers on a long-term basis
The role reports directly to the Transport and Logistics Manager at HVDC, you are a member of a team of about 10 people, focusing on large projects all around the world
Your background
Preferred Bachelor or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related discipline and a minimum 3-6 years of relevant work experience in heavy lift, oversize, transportation, warehousing, logistics and aware of trade compliance
On a personal level, you are a reliable team player with an independent and result oriented working style, as well as strong communicative and collaborative skills
You are good at building extensive networks internally as well as externally and like to negotiate. You consider yourself to be an energetic, motivated and self-confident person who can handle both ups and downs and manage problems that may occur
You are genuinely interested in technical components and systems and believe in cross-functional team success by contributing to best design and component selection
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Prior SAP experience
Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Other languages, including Swedish, are preferable
