the Test and Learn Leader will support the Offshore Model Manager and System Integration Leaders by being responsible for Test & Learn activities of the offshore Wind Turbine Platform. He/she will be overall responsible for validation of the new turbine on a system, subsystem and component level.
He/she will manage the Test & Learn program for the offshore turbine, including program planning, follow up and report outs to the platform management team and Senior Leadership.
Essential Responsibilities
Besides the system and component tests it will also include full-scale test programs for the first prototypes and zero-series till full commercialization (Alpha, Beta and Fleet Leader units). He/She will manage and coordinate all contacts with internal test departments and third party test institutes all the way from component tests to the full- scale turbine tests. In addition to the initial product launch the testing will further evolve for the subsequent optimization of parts and systems.
The responsibilities include:
• Management and monitoring of the Offshore Test & Learn program.
• Plan and facilitate Design Validation Reviews (DVR).
• Lead cross-functional team of Engineering, Services and Validation to perform test and validation activities.
• Lead and mentor the validation and testing of components and sub systems.
• Optimize the performance and reliability in the design stage with Lessons Learned from the Test & Learn program.
• Routinely and concisely communicate program progress to Sr. Leadership, and Commercial Operations.
• Act as global focal point and Owner of Offshore Test & Learn.
• Identify and lead design as well as design process improvements as corrective actions resulting from the Test & Learn Program.
• Ensure proper maintenance of all engineering documentation in the Test Record Book.
• Work closely with other Test Engineers from the other Wind platforms and cross-functional leadership for cross-functional support and best practice sharing.
• Perform all work in accordance with applicable ISO-9001: 2000 standards.
This position will require some domestic and international travel.
