We are currently seeking a senior test cell engineer with expertise in battery, power electronics and charging.

About Us
SEEL, Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory, is a collaboration between Chalmers and RISE for research and development of electromobility. SEEL is currently finalizing the establishment of three state-of-the-art testing facilities in Gothenburg, Nykvarn, and Borås. The goal of SEEL is to improve efficient knowledge building and collaboration to accelerate the development of electrified transportation.

The automotive and aviation industry, the maritime sector, and developers of relevant technology will have the opportunity to test prototypes and products at independent test facilities equipped with cutting-edge equipment. SEEL currently employs approximately 30 dedicated staff members and expanding rapidly.

About the Role
As a test cell engineer, your role will involve planning, preparing and supporting the execution of tests, followed by evaluating and analyzing data before delivering it to our customers. Typical test objects include batteries, both as cells and as modules or complete battery packs. In Gothenburg, our team is also responsible for a lab for charging functions. Expected operational and strategic tasks may include:

- Developing, maintaining, and executing test methods for the aforementioned test objects
- Conducting and supporting risk assessments related to electrical safety
- Maintaining contact with suppliers of laboratory equipment
- Keeping laboratory equipment up-to-date to meet future needs and acting as an advisor for future investments
- Developing test automation systems to optimize usage
- Maintaining all necessary documentation in the laboratory environment

As you will work closely with our customers, you play a vital role in delivering a positive customer experience. You will use your knowledge and welcoming attitude to guide and support customers on-site.

You will report to Director Energy Storage testing and your workplace will be in Gothenburg and some travel occurs a few times a year.

Who You Are
We are looking for a test cell engineer with at least a few years of experience in testing components or systems related to the automotive industry, preferably with experience in battery testing. Your practical experience is essential, also your understanding of typical test objects and measurement techniques. Knowledge of communication protocols in vehicles and automation systems (such as MORPHEE, PUMA, or similar) and programming (Python, C++, or CAPL) is also necessary for succeed in this role.

Your educational background is in electronics, mechanical engineering, or within related field. We communicate in Swedish and/or English, so you need to be fluent in at least one of the languages. Driver's license B is mandatory. As a person, you are driven, eager to learn, and have the ability to quickly adapt to new environments and tasks. You are a team player with a strong interest in developing both yourself and others.
