Overall Role Mandate:
The Technical Solutions Manager will provide technical guidance to pre-sales personnel, assist company's account managers in pre-sales activities and review the current status of client technology processes. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for solving complex problems, as well as planning and modifying product configurations to meet client requirements. To complete the required tasks satisfactorily, the Technical Solutions Manager will often use computers and database user interface software, such as Microsoft SQL Server.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the fleet tracking and wireless industry; knowledge of relevant solution sets, product lines, performance criteria and applications in the GPS fleet tracking market and/or wireless industry. The ideal candidate will also be able to generate presentations from a non-technical and a technical point of view and be able to articulate that view point with internal and external stakeholders. S/he will also be able to identify/qualify sales opportunities and take initiative with appropriate teams to secure business that will lead to revenue generation. This role reports into the VP, US Sales.
What We Are Looking For
• A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, information systems, computer science or a related field.
• 3-5 years' practical experience in the telematics industry.
• Programing and/or hardware firmware experience.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully be a part of a national sales team with specific goals and sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of solution and/or consultative selling.
• Ability to understand customer needs with the ability to translate those needs in to an articulated solution.
• Strong written/verbal communication and listening skills in English and Danish
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member in a very team oriented culture.
• Ability to assess a challenge and determine an effective course of action with a positive end result.
• Ability to learn and experiment independently.
Your role will encompass the following
• Provide technical consulting to the sales force and prospective clients.
• Answer pre-sales and technical questions via email, conference calls and web presentations.
• Understand technical issues and the ability to apply solutions, technology and products to a business opportunity.
• Design and build "out of the box" hardware and software solutions for unique customer challenges, using the Fleet Complete platform.
• Develop and implement technical training initiatives for internal and external sales teams.
• Research options and request quotes for outsourced components of projects or custom products.
• Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
• Assist in API conversations with clients.
• Convey customer requirements and feedback to Product Management teams.
• Responsible for development and delivery of customized product demonstrations.
Location
The position is focused on supporting the Scandinavian team; the ideal candidate will be situated in Scandinavia, however strong applicants with previous telematics experience will be considered in regions outside of the preferred location.
