Our section, Exhaust System & Cooling System, operates within the department Powertrain Installation and consist of three technical groups; Exhaust System, Outer Cooling System and Engine Mounted Cooling System. Green Propulsion and Thermal management are increasingly important attribute areas for Volvo Cars towards becoming the most desired luxury brand. This position is within Cooling systems, who has a key role in setting those attributes and balancing in between them. We are of different ages, background and experience. We are characterized as an open and friendly group where everyone shares their knowledge with each other.
As Technical Specialist Cooling System Thermal Management, you are responsible for the technical leadership with in your area, including developing a vision, mission and strategy as well as Technology Cycle Plan. You will initiate and supervise advance engineering to secure technical proficiency and process, methods and tools used for this. As a technical specialist you are also responsible for benchmarking competitors, suppliers and authorities, and to develop and maintain relations with universities through supervising doctorate programs and thesis work. Systems are getting more advanced and complex and to succeed in this a long term technical leadership is required.
Main responsibilities
• Deliver Research work to define New Requirement Specifications and Corresponding Verification/Validation Method
• Secure Process, Methods & Tools proficiency by initiating and supervising Operational Development projects
• Initiate annual studies and support concept studies
• Support in quality assurance and fault tracing activities
• Secure succession by proactively provide mentoring and coaching as well as delivering education material and training within your technical area
• Give input regarding accuracy and technical level of documented design guideline within your technical area
Required qualifications
• M.Sc or equivalent based on relevant work experience
• Experience in development of advanced technologies, processes and transfer of technology
• Minimum 6 years of experience within Cooling system with technical expertise in the area
• Experience managing project implementing new state of the technology to enhance products and processes
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
