The section Contamination and Core CFD is a part of the Environment & Fluid Dynamics department and has a long tradition of using CFD as a tool for engineering and design process. We work within the areas; contamination, climate comfort and aero acoustics and we also support our sister sections thermodynamics and aerodynamics with analysis and method development know-how. The CFD related part of the section is responsible for planning and performing CFD analysis in all phases of vehicle programs, both individually and in teams. We work together with system/attribute leaders, analysis engineers, stylists and designers to develop and verify our systems and components in our future vehicles. An important part of our work is to continuously improve our working processes and methods. Furthermore, close cooperation with universities and participation in global research programs are an essential part of our long term development.
As Technical Specialist you will lead and support the department's method development projects to meet our future challenges. You will also be involved in planning and performing CFD analysis in all phases of vehicle programs.
Main responsibilities
• Lead the development of CAD cleaning tools and CFD Software for the areas we work with and suggest actions when appropriate
• Own the long term CFD strategy within the department
• Coordinate input for Operational Development, Basic Design and Advanced Engineering related issues for Complete Vehicle CFD
• Drive collaboration with external parties such as universities, governmental programs and other OEMS
• Drive utilization of cost and lead time efficiency tasks
Required qualifications
• PhD in fluid mechanics or engineering physics
• At least 10 years experience of industrial and/or academic experience in CFD
• Experience from automotive CFD including at least two of the following attributes; aerodynamics, thermodynamics, contamination, climate comfort and aero acoustics
• Extensive knowledge of CFD impact on product development
• Strong record of technical innovation/contribution/leadership resulting in implementation of CFD methods in product development
• International recognition in automotive CFD
• Experience in project management
• Meritorious are skills in ANSA, Ansys/Fluent, openFoam, Harpoon and EnSight
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

• Interested in developing methods and processes
