www.clontech.com As a part of WaferGen Bio-Systems' integration to Takara Bio, Takara Bio Europe is now opening a full-time position in Gothenburg, Sweden.
We are interested to speak to candidates with a strong Molecular and Cell Biology lab experiences who will perform instrument demonstration and fee-for-service projectsusing Takara Bio's Single-Cell, NGS and HT qPCR automation systems.
Candidates will mainly work in the Takara Europe AB's lab (Gothenburg, Sweden) with occasional travel duties within European countries.We expect the initial few months period will be dedicated to technical transfer tasks and extensive training that may require travels to our US office.
The position implies active coordination with the Project Manager and Field Application Specialist and the Business Development Managers not locally based.
A real customer-oriented mindset is required.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform demos in front of the customers (Demonstrate all Takara Bio Automation technologies with customers present on site)
• Do the customer presentation prior to demo
• Do lab consumable inventory management for the demos/pilots
• Perform lab works for pilot- and fee-for-service projects using ICELL8 Single-Cell Systems
• Train sales personnel, product managers, distributors on the new and existing technologies
• Take care of the cells in culture and storage of the cell stocks
• Take care of the function of the relevant lab equipment in the lab with a help of service engineers
• Provides troubleshooting support to customers in the field or by phone/email
• Resolves, diagnoses and/or escalates customer issues on instruments and chemistry
• Travel and meet the European customers as a back-up of the Field Application Specialist
General Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead the lab work for service projects and effectively contributes including providing guidance and direction to project staff.
• Capable of presenting scientific concepts on a clear and simple way in order to be able to train sales personnel, distributors and customers.
• Learn and maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art scientific principles, theories, and the practical methods used in research laboratories.
• Familiar with cell culture and molecular biology techniques with a focus on NGS (library prep and target enrichment), qPCR and single cell sequencing.
• Maintains productive relationships with co-workers and customers to accomplish corporate objective.
• Recognizes problems and suggests new approaches to solve them.
• The position requires approx. 15-20% time in travel, mostly within Europe.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Education Requirement (minimum)
• PhD, in Cell, Molecular Biology or related life science discipline
Experience Requirement (minimum)
• 2-4 years lab bench experience in Cell, Molecular Biology or related discipline.
