You should be motivated by working closely with our customers in either the Naval or Commercial customer segment within a global marine business.
As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will play a vital role within our team, focusing on developing optimal propulsion solutions for various vessels. Your assignments will span from conducting advanced concept studies to performing rapid analyses. Ultimately, your work will culminate in creating technical specifications and detailed drawings that form the basis for specific customer contracts. This dynamic role involves close collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including the Propeller sales organization, the Kongsberg Hydrodynamics Research Center, our technical departments and purchasing.
In this role, you serve as the customers' primary point of contact at Kongsberg for technical inquiries during the sales phase. As such, building and maintaining relationships are natural and crucial aspects of the job. You'll engage in business travel, often alongside a Sales Manager, where you'll deliver presentations and collaborate with customers to identify the optimal solutions.
What we can offer
We offer an inspiring and secure work environment, providing you with the opportunity to engage with sustainable and exciting solutions for the future. As part of this role, you'll tackle a diverse range of challenging tasks, allowing you to directly impact our business outcomes. Additionally, expect both technical and personal growth as you work with our unique product-a hallmark of our position as a world-leading supplier of maritime solutions. You'll thrive in an international environment, collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, and occasional travel will be part of your responsibilities. We also provide flexible working hours and the option for partial remote work, tailored to your specific tasks.
Qualifications and experience
You hold a post-secondary degree in mechanics, hydraulics, hydrodynamics, or a related field. Prior work experience in any of these domains is preferred. Your ability to handle both in-depth investigations and focused analyses is highly valued. Given our international clientele and supplier network, proficiency in both spoken and written English is essential. Knowledge of other languages is advantageous.
In this position collaboration is key to succeed. You are driven by supporting customers and find it exciting to have discussions and argue for different technical solutions to reach an agreement. We value your personal characteristics highly and your ability to co-operate and network, share knowledge, and support your colleagues in the pursuit of team goals. Your capacity to employ a methodical and systematic approach, plan strategically, and set clear priorities is crucial.
Welcome with your application as soon as possible, but no later than 2023-04-08.
For this position we work with personality and ability tests, which may be sent to you if you proceed in the process. Interviews can start during the application period as we wish to fill this position as soon as possible.
Since we are a company working with customers in the Naval segment, questions related to citizenship will be part of the selection process. This employment may require security clearance in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act before employment.
