Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

The Electrification section is looking for a Technical Manager for Electric Motor Development. Our vision is to provide Traton customers with optimal powertrain solutions for heavy-duty vehicles. As Technical Manager, you will be an important link in the chain to help achieve our goal.

Role and duties

Take the chance to be the first Technical Manager for Electric Motor Development in the Traton group! You will work on a broad basis in a field of technology in which we are aiming to accelerate our knowledge development.

The role has two main responsibilities.

• Point out direction in the technology area by establish and execute Road Maps. The aim is to create ways to satisfy the functional requirements for electric propulsion that provide world class solutions to our customers.
• Drive the work of establishing, developing and maintaining system and requirement descriptions, including associated internal standards within Traton. Also represent Scania from a technical perspective in work on upcoming external standards and legal requirements within electric propulsion.

We believe that good collaboration within the VW Group and Traton is one of the keys to success. As Technical Manager, you will monitor developments in the field of technology, both in research and in industry, and consider their implementation for heavy-duty vehicles at Traton.

You will monitor and identify where further research is needed in order to meet overall goals that relate to electric powertrains. As part of this, you will participate in the Research Council and in technology meetings at section and/or department level.

Your qualities and skills

You most likely currently work as a senior electric motor designer or manager of a developing organisation. You possess expert-level competence in the field of technology. You have a wide network of contacts within industry and academia that ensures you are always on top of the latest information with regard to technology trends.

Good spoken and written English is a requirement; Swedish is an advantage. It is important for you to be good at adapting your communication to the needs of the situation, thus enabling clear and comprehensible communication at all levels. You are goal-driven, pragmatic, independent and understand how you seek out and deliver value for the organisation.
