Do you have unique competence in the area of Vehicle Energy Efficiency and share our passion for sustainability? Then the role as Technical Leader for Sustainability Vehicle Energy Efficiency is the role for you to prosper.
In this role, you will get the chance to make real impact on our Sustainability Journey. Energy Efficiency is one of the main keys for us to succeed with our aim to be carbon neutral by 2040. Together we bring our sustainability work to the same level as our safety work has been for decades, we will lead the society towards a sustainable future!
You will be one of the "Sustainability Architects" within the strategy team called Sustainability Architecture Team at Sustainability Center. You will work closely with the development teams within Product Creation (R&D), but also with other parts of our global organization as well as with external researchers.
Your Contribution
You will drive attribute-focused research and knowledge creation within Vehicle Energy Efficiency cross-functional. You will be the expert in Energy Usage and create an understanding on different levels by proactively develop holistic knowledge for Vehicle Energy Efficiency benefits.
You will be responsible for the Product Creations strategic agenda with respect to Vehicle Energy Efficiency and provide input and support in other areas. You will set long-term visions from a high-level perspective and define what challenges need to be addressed next as well as driving the change across the company. You will assure delivery of transfer of technologies towards new mobility.
In close cooperation with other experts within Sustainability Center, Global Sustainability Team and Procurement Sustainability Team you will deliver activities and roadmaps reaching Volvo Cars target to be target leading in Energy Efficiency by 2025 and Carbon neutrality by 2040.
You will also plan and execute PhD examinations and externally financed research projects in strategic areas.
Competence is Important
We are looking for you who have a PhD within the area and extensive experience in all development phases. You are nationally known for your unique competence and contribution to the development of products. You have also peer-review publications, been awarded and referred to in work.
You are an expert with both a narrow and broad focus, you have the skills to understand/analyze external drivers, set strategic priorities, and drive creative and effective strategies to achieve corporate objectives. You have previous handled competences covering several specialist areas and you have general knowledge within Autonomous Drive, Electrification and battery technology.
Personality is Key
You are a visioner that loves to motivate others, as well as making things happen. You have the ability to focus on what's best for the planet and what works for the company: taking the next step while not losing sight of the bigger picture.
You have experience from tutoring PhD students and are an excellent teacher/coach/mentor. You have the ability to collaborate regardless of the audience and take the lead/guide both peers and management. Your communication is excellent regardless the purpose. You are a true networker, used to manage Technical Experts in the delivery and in order to fully success you will need contacts with institutes, universities etc.
