Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we're expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we're on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars' journey into the future.

Right now we have an exciting opportunity available as a Team and Product Manager within the Data Platforms product area. If you are looking for a combination of delivering both digital products and developing people, this is the perfect role for you. The current organization is newly formed and as such you will have a unique opportunity to join the journey from the start and really make an impact on our product as well as your own role and position.

What you'll do

As a Team and Product Manager, you are end-to-end accountable for digital deliveries within your delivery scope - both from an operational and development point of view. It is your job to own and communicate the product vision and strategy for the product cluster by that serving as the "content authority" and defining and prioritizing the product cluster backlog over releases. You understand, drive and control the financial aspects of the product cluster as well as the people delivering over time.

Within Data Platforms you will be responsible for securing continuous delivery of our production environments within our data platform area as well as acting as the lead for the major transformation initiatives we have within the product area. The Data and Analytics unit is part of and leading a major change within the company toward a truly data-driven enterprise. On this journey, we will require strong leadership in the transformation part.

You will also be part of the Data Platforms leadership team and help deliver on our purpose. You do this by leading the provision of services to support the management and delivery of the business data that provides business insights and intelligence via analytics and visualization and also global data access to quality data. As a leader and team manager within Data Platforms, you will also engage, coach, and develop your own team.

You and your skills

We believe that you have experience in leading suppliers on- and offshore in data management deliveries as well as starting transformation initiatives including suppliers and on-site staff. We also assume that you have a good understanding of how a modern data management environment in the cloud would look like including global distribution and access to the data, and how to establish system availability via both reactive and proactive measurements. Understanding and experience in how to drive efficiency and modernization to reduce cost and risk is also a plus. You have worked with data management and ideally have leadership experience in this area, working with data engineers and data-skilled people in your previous jobs.

As a person, you have a good balance between strategic platform thinking in combination with an operational stability mindset. You are a person that looks upon accountability and quality as a signature mark of everything you do. You have an open mind for change and innovation, and a willingness to learn and adapt. You have a service mind built in your DNA, strong business acumen, and a positive mindset and are always eager to find solutions rather than outlining problems. Lastly, we think that you share our passion for cars and development in the automotive industry.
