We are looking for a passionate Systems Engineer who strives for engineering excellence and excels in constantly changing environments. To succeed as Systems Engineer you will ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Good knowledge and competence in Linux, Kubernetes and container technologies
Good knowledge and experience of GCP services & offerings
Experience with Cloud- and Data Center architecture and services to support on-prem / hybrid
Good knowledge in traditional infrastructure like networking, storage and compute
Experience with architecture concepts such as microservices, event driven architecture and cloud native technologies
Good knowledge in coding (you would know one or two programming languages) and common development concepts such as Git, CI/CD)
The System Engineer we are looking for should have:
High attention to detail in everything you do
Passion for operational excellence and an interest in development processes
Passion for technology and willing to learn and to share
Communication skills needed in an "all-remote" working environment
A fair share of common sense
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Systems Engineer within Cloud Technologies Containers you will be a part of the team responsible for designing and delivering well designed, secure and scalable cloud solutions to support consumers across IKEA. You will be a vital part of developing our solutions of tomorrow where we modernize applications shifting to on-prem and public cloud or optimize existing implementations within the container platform to support the business demands in an even better way.
You will be surrounded by skilled & experienced engineers and together you will work to implement modern engineering principles, proper tooling and increase automation to enable the specified business outcomes and create a strong digital foundation for IKEAs Digital products and business.
In this role you will report to Engineering Manager who is Accountable for Team Roadmap and Delivery Team of Cloud Technologies Containers.
Your office location will be in south of Sweden (Helsingborg or Älmhult)
Among many tasks you will
Be part of a small, dedicated, SRE team developing and running our container platform(s)
Develop and automate changes to be rolled out in our GitOps workflow, using tools like ArgoCD & Ansible
Continuously monitor and improve our environments using tools like Prometheus, Grafana and Slack-bots
Support and guide development-teams in container/k8s technologies
Be part of/lead troubleshooting sessions with other infrastructure teams to resolve critical incidents
Be prepared to dig deep into our technology stack and have a lot of fun on the way
ABOUT THIS WORK AREA
Group Digital set the digital agenda to keep IKEA leading in an uncertain and fast-moving environment. We drive the development, provision and operation of our digital products and services using new and existing technology and agile delivery methods to deliver at pace. At the same time, we provide a home for digital skills to both develop and extend the technical, people and business skills needed to ensure continuous development and growth of our digital capability.
The Service Area Core Digital Infrastructure has co-workers in Sweden (Helsingborg, Malmö and Älmhult), Germany (Dortmund and Diedenbergen), USA (Philadelphia) and China (Shanghai).
