The products you will work with are market leading within underground mining equipment including applications for drilling, loading, hauling and infrastructure. A trend is that machines are becoming more automated with advanced software functions controlling the electrics-, hydraulics- and powertrain systems. The systems engineering group is part of the project office at the R&D department. As a systems engineer you will work cross functionally to enable the realization of successful systems. You will work on different levels from definition of stakeholder needs through product requirements to definition and synthesis of functions and design solutions. Throughout the product life cycle you will also be involved in all phases including pre/concept studies, scope definition, development, verification, validation and product maintenance. You will, mostly in project format, work with new development projects, product maintenance, technology development and customer orders. You will have close contact with other departments in Örebro, for example technical service, production, purchasing and marketing. The targets are achieved via a continuous dialogue with colleagues and stakeholders which requires good collaboration capabilities.

For you to enjoy the work you need to be self-sustaining, plan your work effectively to meet deadlines, and are willing to take responsibility. You have a holistic approach and have the capability to see the complete problem as well as an ability to drill down into technical details when necessary. This job requires a lot of collaboration both internally and externally, so good interpersonal and communication skills is necessary to do a good job. You also have the ability to express yourself in documents in a clear and comprehensible way so that different stakeholders easily understands the core message.

Experience and Knowledge:
You have a Master of Science degree in mechatronics-, electrics-, hydraulics-, software engineering or similar. You should have at least 5 years' of relevant experience. Experience from the following areas is meritorious:
• Product development including requirements management.
• Communication systems.
• Safety related functions and work with performance level requirements.
• Low emission technology and battery powered machines.
• Mining applications or mobile construction vehicles with high level of automation.
• Test and verification.
English is our corporate language and is widely used, both in spoken and written form. Hence, we assume that your English skills are good.
Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation (URE) has a large program of machines used in tunneling and underground mining operations, for example drill rigs, bolting rigs, concrete spraying equipment, loaders and mine trucks. The equipment is used all around the world, normally in very harsh environments with high demands on safety, reliability and productivity. They are available in various technology levels, from simple to fully autonomous with diesel and/or electric drive trains.
