The department, Active Safety, consist of over 400 ambitious and skilled engineers and is responsible for all the way from research and advanced engineering to implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers. The department is responsible of the Product Stream, Autonomous Drive and consist of 4 Agile Release Trains (ART's).

* Protective Safety
* Vehicle Motion Control
* Autonomous Drive Function, Software & Sensor Platform
Within the product stream, we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Automatic Parking, Driver Support, Brake system Software. We develop and integrate system and functionality into a complete product, encompassing SW, HW and sensors as radar, camera, ultrasonic and lidar, that build a comprehensive perception of the surroundings.
We are now looking for a number of System Architects for our ART's. System Architects will be responsible to create clear conditions for all developing teams within the ART. It also includes working with strategy and vision and creating brake down requirements. The technical roadmap will be an important task to create and maintain together with all teams. The work will cover the whole chain of development period, from research period to start of production.
What will you do?
You will work in close cooperation with Stakeholder such as Solution Architects, Product Manager (PM), Product Owners (PO), Technical experts, Aspired teams and System architects in the different ART's and be part of defining the technical roadmap and implement enabler epics. You will:
* Define, develop and realize enabler epics, such as cross function requirement, legal requirement, benchmark and marked demands.
* Participate in high level design and explore alternatives to establish high level system design
* Participate in the different meetings connected to Agile way of working
* Securing quality aspect in the architectural solution
* Participate in the continuous exploration process
* Co-ordinate strategy work from the teams and align with PM and Solution Architects
* Plan and develop on ART level the Architectural Runway to support business Features and Capability
What do you need to have?
To be successful in this job, we see that you have at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
* B.Sc of Engineering, computer science or equal
* Working with System design
* You have SW or electrical engineering development experience
* Preferably, you would like to work in an agile environment (we love agile!)
* Experience from leading product development assignments and ability to motivate a team
* Be able to master the English language.
* Preferable if you have practical and theoretical knowledge about the Volvo product development process and especially the electrical development process
