Technical Infrastructure is providing flexible, cost-effective and tailored IT solutions for advanced engineering and R&D projects within Volvo Technology Corp. A concentrated and combined competence in various IT areas makes Technical Infrastructure unique and capable of providing a full spectrum of services in both traditional and alternative open source environment.
Within IT Support & Operation area, we are looking for an experienced hands-on, Linux oriented; System administrator / IT Infrastructure technician
Job Description:
You will be responsible for the planning, deployment, support, and operation of the VTEC IT infrastructure, consisting of network environment, storage systems, web/application/Db server park. You will also work very closely with software development and business groups to understand business requirements on long and short term initiatives, and work to meet those requirements.
Requirements:
• Analysing, designing and implementing IS/IT systems with both Open Source and proprietary software
• Linux professional. RHCE or equivalent, experience in CentOS, RHEL and Ubuntu distributions
• Comfortable with the complete LAMP stack, and proven knowledge of running an Apache/Tomcat environment
• Development and understanding of Bash scripting for automation and monitoring
• Understanding of networked user data stores such as LDAP and NIS from an administrator's standpoint
• Good TCP/IP networking skills. Understanding of network services is a plus, such as Bind, ISC DHCP, Sendmail, Samba, Radius, NFS, FTP and Firewall rules
• Advanced knowledge of different layers of system security involving user, network and applications
• Experience of running a 24/7/365 operating environment in terms of designing reliable, stable and/or resilient systems
• Good data centre hardware knowledge. HP, Cisco and APC are desirable
• Oracle databases and application servers from a SA's standpoint
• VMware and other x86 virtualization techniques
• Knowledge of networked storage technologies, experience with NetApp products is a plus
• Possibility to handle frequently changing set of requests demanding a variety of different skills and technology knowledge
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in Swedish and English
• Team player, excellent inter-personal skills and attitude
• Organization and documentation skills
• Able to deal with changing priorities and communicating impact in a dynamic environment
