Do you want to work in an exciting role at the company behind the world's most advanced industrial X-ray source? Here, you'll be part of a humble and supportive work culture, where we believe that diverse backgrounds and experiences lead to better ideas, stronger teams, and more innovative products. If this sounds like the right place for you, and you want the opportunity to both contribute to and help develop our supplier quality work, we would love to hear from you!
About the role
Excillum designs, develops, and manufactures X-ray sources used for quality assurance in industries such as semiconductor, electronics, and battery manufacturing. Other applications include drug development and research in fields like biology, medicine, and material science and today we have customers across Europe, Asia, and the United States. We are now in an exciting phase as we continue the industrialization of the company, and an important part of this journey is to strengthen our supplier quality processes.
You will be part of a team of 12 people consisting of commodity managers/strategic purchasers, assemblers, production engineers and warehouse staff. In addition to that, you will work closely with your immediate manager as well as other experts in electronics, mechanics, software, research, marketing, and sales, among others. Today, we are around 90 employees at our headquarters in Kista, with both labs and production in-house.
Work tasks
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you are an important part of the work to improve quality and secure the delivery of our products. You will ensure the quality of incoming materials and components through hands-on operational quality work in close collaboration with Production, R&D, and our Commodity Managers. The role primarily focuses on execution and immediate actions, with involvement in the dialogue with our suppliers but without commercial ownership of the supplier relationships.
Key responsibilities:
Perform and assess incoming inspections of mechanical components and materials delivered according to drawings, specifications, and critical dimensions.
Manage supplier-related deviations affecting production and delivery, including issuing and following up on supplier claims.
Drive root cause analyses (e.g., 5 Why, Ishikawa) and ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and verified for effectiveness.
Support product and component qualification activities such as FAI and PPAP where applicable.
Develop an understanding of manufacturing methods and identify likely error sources related to design or process.
Contribute to supplier improvement initiatives and participate in product and process quality enhancement activities.
Participate in supplier visits and audits on behalf of the Commodity Managers by providing technical quality expertise.

We are looking for
We are looking for someone with a strong interest in quality and purchasing, who is able to listen to different perspectives while also contributing with ideas for improvement. You have strong communication and relationship-building skills and are able to connect with people in a variety of contexts.

A post-secondary education in purchasing, engineering, industrial engineering and or equivalent work experience.
Several years of work experience in supplier quality within a manufacturing environment
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
