We are now looking for a Strategic Topics Developer to join the Strategic Sustainability Topics function on a permanent basis.
Job Description
As a Strategic Topics Developer, you will lead or take active part in exploration and development projects connected to the sustainability topics that have been identified as strategic for the IKEA franchise system, including air pollution, biodiversity, climate, fair & equal, land use and water. The main aim is to further contribute to positively transforming the IKEA business, by setting the right pre-conditions for full integration of sustainability. You will work closely together with internal stakeholders from Inter IKEA Group core businesses, as well as IKEA franchisees and also external stakeholders and experts.
Main responsibilities:
Lead strategic topics' related projects and initiatives spanning over the total IKEA value chain, together with and on behalf of the strategic topic leaders and other sustainability co-workers across the IKEA business. That includes mapping gaps, setting goals, defining proof points and creating input to Business plans, Roadmaps and Action plans while working with and through business teams and sustainability teams across all IKEA business units.
Support the Strategic Topic Leaders, together with the Sustainability Analysts, in the development of needed methodologies, goals and KPIs to measure performance and progress of the strategic sustainability topics.
Track progress towards approved goals and KPIs, gather feedback from internal and external stakeholders, and use data to identify improvements and suggest adjustments of plans and tools.
Lead or contribute to projects related to strategic topics, including documenting learnings, to secure agreed best practice and implementation / integration across the IKEA franchise system.
Liaise with Impact & Assessment, Public Affairs and Range Operations on relevant legislation and compliance needs, developments and movements and give input for needed actions in the business.
Support the strategic topic leaders with the annual double materiality assessment led by the Impact & Assessment function, as well as other assessments.
Support Inter IKEA businesses in capacity building initiatives to enable the integration of strategic sustainability topics into the IKEA business units' priorities, by leading / supporting initiatives such as competence development and expertise.
Contribute with content to legal reporting, relevant sub-reports, revisions of components in the IKEA Strategic Framework, legal consultations and others.
Liaise with Impact & Assessment function, internal legal team on relevant legislation and compliance needs, developments and movements and give input for needed actions in the business.

As a Strategic Topic Developer, we expect you to:
Good understanding of the end-to-end IKEA value chain.
Broad understanding of relevant aspects of the IKEA business and the IKEA Strategic framework, organization, ways of working and governance.
Proven experience of stakeholder management and ability to make complex topics understandable.
Experience in working in the core processes of the IKEA value chain with focus on cross functional collaboration.
Master project management skills and have proven track record in leading complex global projects.
Have excellent English communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
Good knowledge in data analysis and data visualization.
Have solid change management skills and experience from driving strategic change.
