Corporate Standards is a Corporate Function within the Volvo Group. The department has the mission of increasing commonality and reducing product costs through standardization. In addition to the work for the Volvo Group we also provide services to Volvo Car Corporation. We develop standards and provide trainings in connection with these standards in close cooperation with Volvo Group experts using well established networks. We are also responsible for developing design guidelines and for documentation of standard parts.
Job description/Areas of responsibility:
Responsible for developing new and maintain existing Volvo Group standards for metallic materials in close collaboration with representatives from the different organizational units in the Volvo Group
Responsible for establishing new Volvo Group-wide networks where necessary in order to implement developed standards
Responsible for creating design guidelines in connection with existing and new developed standards
Giving expert advice to design engineers and others within the area of metallic materials
Representing Volvo Group in external standardization forums such as SIS and ISO
Candidate profile:
MSc degree in Material Science or equivalent
Minimum 5 years experience of working within the field of metallic materials
Product development experience is a merit
Experience from laboratory and material testing is a merit
Experience from purchasing is a plus
Good project managing skills
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English. Knowledge of other languages is a merit.
Excellent co-operation and networking skills
