Service Market Logistics is supporting the global aftermarket of AB Volvo with accurate spare parts at the right point in time. In order to assure this we have an extensive application portfolio maintained within Solution Center SML. The journey of digitizing the business domain is in full speed and there are currently a number of large initiatives ongoing to take the aftermarket into the future. This both when it comes to traditional backbone applications on traditional platforms as well as new techniques and usage of data science to optimize the business.
DSP is an important cornerstone in the digital transformation in the dealer inventory management area and thereby involved in many interesting projects both on traditional platforms as well as cloud and BI area. This means that we have a lot on our plate for the moment and really looking forward to your contribution in this context.
We are a team located in Gothenburg and Wroclaw collaborating daily in supporting our customers globally with their demands, questions and issues. As solution architect you will be located in Sweden or Poland and is expected to have a close cooperation with our full team in both countries as well as peer solutions.
Being one step ahead is a base for accurate decision making and therefore also close cooperation with business stakeholders is of high priority in order to define and execute roadmaps for the applications in the portfolio.
Who are you?
You are a senior person with a genuine technical background including a number of years of experience from development and IT architecture. As a person you appreciate a lot of concurrent ongoing activities but at the same time always deliver with quality. You are curious and is eager to understand and learn to be able to take correct decisions. You get energized by working in teams and take pride in having helped a colleague.
You have documentation skills and can explain complex problems in a way that people understand. Since we are a portfolio in the middle of a quite complex structure you need to have a holistic view to assure that solutions are not sub optimized.
You are open-minded, positive, creative, and a person that makes a difference. You can take decisions quickly and enjoy solving problems while collaborating with your network to deliver high quality solutions. You have a strong drive to continuously challenge and improve.
Last but not least you use your social skills to contribute to a positive climate in our team where we all have fun and everybody is equally important.
Responsibilities
Make fact-based architectural decisions assuring maximal business value and at the same time assure consistency in the solution portfolio.
Secure the overall architectural quality of the solution portfolio.
Translate business requirements into IT architecture and describing it through design artefacts.
Ensure that the solution design is in line with the Volvo Group target architecture (North Star) and architectural principles.
Ensure usage of shared technical standards, tools, and platforms.
Review deliverables, oversee progress and ensure consistency.
Manage IT integration solutions using relevant platforms, support services, methods and guidelines.
Proactively identify architectural issues and concerns and define pragmatic and appropriate solutions.
Drive technical agenda of portfolio and assure correct prioritization of technical issues in backlog refinement team.
Align with Volvo Group Security directives and fulfilling the customer demands for information security.
Define technical standards and practices that should be applied in the development process.
Provide technical guidance and coaching to colleagues in the team.
Required competencies
A university degree in Computer science or similar
Experience from software engineering, agile development and continues improvements
Experience from integration technologies like MQ, V-com (Volvo developed integration platform) etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with business-leaders/stakeholders etc.
Agile wow like scrum and SAFE
Experience from IBMi/iSeries platform and cloud solutions is considered a merit
Fluent in English (both verbal & written)
