Software/Function Developer - Autonomous Lateral Control

The section Active Safety & Vehicle Dynamic Functions delivers world leading active safety and vehicle dynamics functions and has a clear ambition to extend the leadership in the future. The group Vehicle Motion & Control is responsible for the development of functions and software within the area of vehicle dynamics and motion control. This area covers both normal driving control e.g. autonomous longitudinal- and lateral control, limit handling control e.g. ESC control and vehicle state estimation e.g. mass, friction estimation. We develop software and functions in-house and together with our suppliers. We are today 20 persons working as software/function developers, function designers and function owners within this group.

As Software/Function Developer you will have a unique opportunity to apply a broad spectrum of the automatic control theory. You master advanced control theory and enjoy doing function testing and development. As a part of the lateral control team, you will work with advanced control theory in an industrial setting with responsibility of both the path controller, that generates a wheel angle request, and the wheel angle controller. This means that the job tasks range from early design, implementation, and function testing both in simulation environments and in vehicles. You will develop software that implements parts of high-level functions such as Pilot Assist, Collision Avoidance by Steering and the Autonomous Drive.

Main responsibilities

• Develop software by using model-based and/or textual based programming
• Create and configure test simulation environments
• Perform testing in simulation environments, bench tests, hardware in the loop and in vehicles
• Develop and maintain tools to simplify data analysis
• Perform system safety activities

Required qualifications

• M.Sc. degree in Control Theory, Mechatronics, Vehicle Dynamics or similar
• Demonstrated in-depth technical knowledge in the advanced control theory area
• Experience from design to implementation and function testing
• Fluent in English, spoken and written
• Driver's license type B
• Experience of ISO26262
• Experience of using tools like Canape, Simulink and Dspace/Control desktop is meritorious
• Experience of working within the automotive industry is meritourious
