We are the leading supplier of crane systems and are active worldwide. In the large terminal automation projects, we deliver electric and automation systems for 50 to 100 cranes, to the major container ports in Europe, Asia and North America.In a modern container terminal there are remotely controlled Ship-To-Shore cranes, which handle the loading/off-loading of the container ships. These are in the storage yard supported by stacking cranes, robotized cranes weighing hundreds of tons, which automatically move and with high precision stack the containers. The operation of all the cranes is controlled from a central control room to optimize the productivity of the terminal.TasksYou will be part of the sensor team and contribute to the development of our next generation sensor system as well as maintain and refine our existing solutions. One of your main challenges in this role will be developing new products while also supporting delivery projects with expertise. Your focus areas will be:Embedded software engineering of both existing and new sensor systems. Working half and half on new product development and on customer-oriented changes in field installations.Low level software- and systems engineering from software/hardware integration to embedded Linux control applications.Continuous improvement of software engineering practices such as continuous integration, unit tests and static analysis.RequirementsWe are looking for a software developer with knowledge in embedded systems development as well as solid understanding and capability to grow in systems engineering and sensor systems. You hold a Masters' degree in Computing Science, Mechatronics, Robotics or similar and as our customers are world-wide you should have the ability to travel across the world to work on practical system integration topics. Some of the skills below would give you a head start:Solid understanding of C/C++, Python, UML, Linux.Experience from distributed system design and Robot Operating System (ROS).Experience from embedded software engineering and real time operating systems.Experience with Docker based build systems.Experience from sensors such as Lasers, Radars, and Lidars.A good understanding of the state space formulation of the world as described in control and estimation theory.
