Job description
Are you looking for fresh winds in your life? Are you ready to reach new heights in your career?
Nordex Sweden is now looking for a Site Manager to join our PM team. You will be working at different sites around Sweden, which means you will be stationed at your home while often travelling and working in rotations. The role is primarily in Sweden but possibly also around the whole Nordic region (Sweden, Finland and Norway).
Main responsibilities
Supporting the project manager with site planning, preparation and execution.
Overseeing and controlling civil and electrical BOP works in anticipation of turbine delivery
Leading the arrival at site, erection and commissioning of the turbines, so that the wind farm can be handed over to the customer and Nordex Service team safely, on-time, and to excellent quality.
Managing all aspects of safety and environmental requirements at the wind farm site.
Building a strong relationship with the customer, other partners and stakeholders at the wind farm site
Managing all Nordex suppliers at the site including erection & transportation companies
Creating a successful and enjoyable team - with team members drawn from various support departments, including erection supervisors and commissioning engineers, and local service engineers.
Provide the Project Manager with all necessary reporting and support. This will include: reporting of progress; support for claims for extension of time and/or costs to our customers and suppliers; feedback of data on the installed equipment; and formal feedback on quality issues at site
Work within Nordex processes to manage and report progress on the project. Provide constructive suggestions on how the process can be improved and work on specific process improvement actions as part of the Nordex UK, and Nordex group Project Management teams.
Work experience
Leadership and team forming skills, including good communication.
Planning and risk management. The ability to define, delegate and communicate objectives.
A practical, technical appreciation of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering (LV and MV), an understanding of heavy lifting operations and working at heights.
Excellent English skills, both verbally and written
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office
Personal profile
Self-reliance. Although Site Managers receive specialist support from the rest of the team, they will often be under pressure in remote areas with a small team.
The determination, creativity and good humour to work through the inevitable challenges we face in a rapidly growing and changing business & market
The ability to learn quickly about all aspects of wind farms, including the technology of wind turbines, and the Nordex way of working. Although site managers are supported by Nordex specialists, our site managers are required to build a robust knowledge of the turbines.
The ability to work with team mates and partners from different countries.
Good communication skills
Willingness to travel
