As a Service Parts Buyer, you build strong relationships with the suppliers and your peers in order to drive growth, profitability and continuous improvements. You drive synergies and share best practices within the Volvo Group with empowerment and accountability.

This portfolio requires a profile able to work autonomously, self-driven and solution oriented, managing opportunities and challenges for the complete supply chain by using tools and processes to increase the performance of the complete Service Parts value chain.

The Electrical desk portfolio is one of the main contributor to both our European department as well as the Global Electrical & Rubber commodity. The Buyer is a key asset into developing our segment strategies globally for Service critical product groups such as Batteries, Starters & Alternators. The portfolio is also heavily exposed to Remanufacturing, an area growing in importance where our aim is to expand the customer offering together with our supplier base.

Within Service Parts European Purchasing team, the buyer position for Electrical desk portfolio is responsible for the complete purchasing activities for Europe: i.e. sourcing, project and operation. The portfolio is of large importance for customer satisfaction and requires a successful and efficient networker able to use all leverages in our advantage. You work in close cooperation with Brand Sales, Logistics Services, Engineering as well as Production Purchasing and especially Sourcing colleagues.

Responsibilities
• Develop expertise within defined segments and understanding of complete supply chain (market, suppliers, competition, technologies, projects...)
• Drive development of purchasing segment strategies together with production purchasing and ensure implementation
• Manage supplier relationships and performance (quality, delivery and cost)
• Perform activities required for the portfolio: e.g. negotiations, project implementation, crisis management and total cost optimization
• Negotiate contracts and manage the supplier relationship, sourcing and resourcing of unique Service parts to support brand profitability and securing uptime
• Deliver the defined KPI:s on time and in accordance with set targets (Revenues, Uptime, Project)
• Ensure collaboration with n extensive internal network
• Work in accordance with processes defined within Service Parts & Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing as well with defined Values (Customer Success, Trust, Passion, Change, Performance) in focus.

Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years Automotive Purchasing experience
• University degree in Purchasing, Business, Engineering, Supply chain, or related field
• Purchasing and negotiation experience is seen as a strong advantage
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
