Wärtsilä Biogas Solutions is now looking to strengthen the team of service engineers. The location of the candidates can either be Sweden (Kalmar), Norway (Asker) or Denmark (Nörresundby). Today Wärtsilä Biogas Solutions has 10 European based Service Engineers primarily located in Kalmar Sweden. Globally there are 40 plants in operation, mainly in Northern Europe, that the team of service engineers support.

Wärtsilä designs and builds biogas upgrading plants and liquefaction units since more than 20 years (former Puregas Solutions and Hamworthy). Biogas is produced from food waste, sewage, manure and crops and consists mainly of methane and carbon dioxide. The upgraded biogas, Biomethane, can be used as vehicle fuel, injected into the gas grid or for liquefaction (LBG).

As a Service Engineer you work mainly on local geographical markets but also in Europe. Typical tasks are commissioning, troubleshooting, on-site service, warranty work and service remote support to our plants. You are also responsible for coordinating the work of local contractors.

Main Responsibilities:
As Service Engineer you will work in an international environment with focus on plants in the local country markets. Your main responsibilities will be:

Commissioning on site for a period of two to four weeks.
Training of operators.
Participate in trial runs and performance tests on site.
Plant optimization.
Troubleshooting and support to customers via telephone and remote connection.
Half-year service on plants with service agreements.
Warranty work.
Rebuilding and updates.
24/7 remote support on a rolling scheme.
Engineering support for sales and product development.

The job requires travel in own country and abroad. Much of the work is done in projects with tight time frames and there will be unscheduled work with short notice, so it is important to have a flexible mind to working hours and work load.

While on site you are often the only Wärtsilä representative so you must be able to take own initiatives and cooperate with the client and other suppliers. The offices located in Kalmar, Sweden and Asker, Norway support the service engineers on site.

A suitable background for this position can be commissioning, process operations or automation on ships, energy or refinery. It is valuable with experience from the following fields:

Practical and theoretical skills in mechanical and electrical installations
Pumps, compressors, valves, pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
Transmitters and measuring instruments.
PLC and operator panels.
Troubleshooting.
Process industry with pressure, chemicals, heat transfer and valves.
Work in EX environment.

That you are fluent in English and either Swedish, Danish or Norwegian is required. You need also to have worked within applicable field for a minimum of three years and have technical or engineering education on post-secondary level
