About the role:
Xperi is looking for a Senior UX Designer to help design the future of our TV and automotive products and services. As UX designer and member of an Agile team you will work closely with both product management and engineering to create extraordinary experiences!
You will be a key contributor and originator in your own right, responsible for researching, designing, innovating, and prototyping new user experiences in addition to supporting existing products within Xperi. Deliverables include design mock-ups, experience flows, prototyping, design presentations, and follow up for proper implementation.
About your team:
Our Device Frontend team is located in Linköping Sweden and Warsaw Poland. We develop and maintain the end user experience of the Vewd OS Connected TV product. We are working with web technologies in Agile teams, and we are proud to see our products used daily in millions of SmartTVs and Set-Top-Boxes worldwide.
Device Frontend team's technology stack consists of a wide range of technologies - from the browser on the embedded devices using Linux and Android OS to the web-based UI developed in modern technologies.
Key responsibilities:
Conceive and drive UI design from problem discovery to concept to implementation - balance design to technical and business requirements
Develop creative solutions for primarily TV but also other areas such as touch screens for in-car experiences
Iterate and improve those experiences as needed. Influence team roadmaps to include experience improvements
Build relationships and trust with stakeholders, peers and working groups, globally
Support web development team with mockups, wireframes, images, layout, flows and specification
What you bring:
Proven professional experience in User Interface design, ideally with software design solutions that have been released to the market
Higher education in one of the following: Design, Web Design, Cognitive Science, Interaction Design, UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, or a design portfolio that shows relevant experience
Ability to define a user experience vision and inspire others to execute against that vision
Experience with at least one of the following tools, Sketch, Adobe XD or Figma
Active interest in UX design as integral part of software development and curiosity to learn about recent technologies
A profound sense of aesthetics, as well as of user-centered design principles
A strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX with evidence of good visual design ability
Creative problem solving
Well organized, self-reliant, and self-motivated, able to work independently but also collaborative with other stakeholders
Great written and verbal communication skills in English
Knowledge of web technologies
Knowledge in accessibility
Knowledge of connected TV and embedded systems
It is ok if you also have:
Experience from creating great experiences for TV, web, app, or other digital devices
Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects
Experience working with design systems
Experience with setting up, running and summarizing user testing of digital products
