The Supplier Quality Assurance department, belonging to Group Trucks Operations Purchasing, is driving the global supplier base towards premium automotive quality standards. The department is responsible to continuously improve the supplier base and the quality of purchased parts. The three main customers for the Supplier Quality Assurance department in Europe are Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks and Volvo Bus.
Job description
At Supplier Quality Assurance department, Electrical/Electronics & Software (SW) we are looking for a Senior Software Supplier Quality Engineer (SW SQE) with SPICE and/or CMMI experience.
As SW SQE you are responsible of our external suppliers to secure that the suppliers have and apply the correct processes in place to develop software with high quality. Most of the work is project based and the main goal is to secure the quality of each SW product. Before start of production the supplier is requested to show evidence to you showing that they live up to our quality expectations. After that you as SW SQE are responsible to release/approve the SW product (SW PPAP) before use in serial production.
Our main tool is SW APQP, which is used to evaluate that usage of correct processes and routines at the supplier during the SW development project. The method is based on SPICE and expectation is that suppliers shall be live up to at least SPICE level 3.
Through regular follow up with the suppliers and through audits we monitor and support quality activities at suppliers. We challenge the suppliers to allow them to grow, improve and reach new levels.
As SQE you will be involved in several different projects in parallel and will be responsible for a set of suppliers and all their SW deliveries.
You are working in close cooperation with Purchasing, Product development and the supplier throughout the life cycle of the software product.
Qualifications
You should have an eye for details but also have a good general understanding of the situation, being able to make risk assessments and focus on the right areas. You must be a good communicator and a multicultural team player, both internally Volvo but also towards supplier management team.
The job requires frequent travels from time to time

• SPICE and/or CMMI competence/experience
• Embedded Software devlopment
• Interaction with suppliers/customers
• English
