About the Job
Your primary responsibilities as Senior Software Development and Release Manager will include using your experience and skills to drive Release Train (Program) execution, schedule development based on the Program Backlog, and ensure delivery of a well-tested release every iteration. The Release Manager works closely with the Client Project Managers to ensure timely deliveries of customer commitments. You will also have the line responsibility for Software Development Managers whose teams work within the Release Train.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure availability of a well-tested release with the right content at the end of each iteration
• Facilitate Release Train events such as Release Planning, and the Scrum of Scrums
• Schedule development into releases based on the priorities in the Program Backlog
• Plan requirements with internal customers
• Manage risks, issues and opportunities; escalate impediments
• Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and Business Owners to help assure strategy and execution alignment
• Drive program-level continuous improvement and participate in enterprise-level improvement and standardization activities
• Communicate plans, status, progress, RIOs to Program Manager, Leadership teams and other stakeholders
• Encourage team and program level Quality Practices and Communities of Practice around SAFe, Scrum, and Agile program management
• Well-being of employees, competence development, performance management and compensation towards Line Managers reporting up to her/him
• Cascade and clarify organizational vision, strategy and goals to teams and individuals; and alignment with individual and team goals.
About you
You have passion for software development and delivering value to customers. You bring with you at least 8 years of management experience in software development organizations, and knowledge and hands-on experience of Agile and LEAN methodologies. You have experience as a project or program manager, preferably from scaled agile projects or other large-scale projects. You are strong-minded, goal-oriented and challenge status quo! You will chart the course, set high expectations, inspire others, find a way and deliver results!.
