We are looking for a Senior Scientist to the Gel Process Development team at Galderma in Uppsala. Are you an experienced scientist with expertise within hydrogels, biomaterials and/or nanoparticles? As Senior scientist within Gel Process Development, you will be part of the CMC Medical Device Development department, and will be responsible for conducting laboratory work towards aesthetic formulations, including for example chemical modifications of polysaccharides, biostimulators or biomaterials in R&D projects.
Responsibilities
In this role, you are expected to contribute with expert competence and prepare scientific and strategic recommendations to teams and projects regarding biomaterials and novel compositions. In addition, you are to develop and propose products prototypes and manufacturing processes to the business. Other responsibilities include to:

Initiate, plan, execute and document laboratory experiments

Evaluate data, and compile reports of experiments and present them to senior management
*
Supervise team members on scientific/technical matters
*
Define and implement ideas, strategies and development plans in technical cross-functional teams.

Represent the team in projects and be the point of contact for external partners to ensure alignment on strategy and timelines
*
Write and review scientific reports for publications, quality/regulatory purpose or patents.
*
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, with the company's quality system, and international standards.
Requirements
You likely have a PhD in biomaterials, chemistry, biotechnology or equivalent. Industrial experience from R&D and manufacturing is meriting, as is experience from the medical device field or the pharmaceutical industry. You have solid experience from practical lab work, are used to leading research activities and have experience from working in a global setting. Furthermore, you speak and write English fluently, while speaking and writing Swedish is meriting.
To thrive and deliver in this role, you are comfortable with participating as an expert within development projects. You have a wide background in science and the ability to drive cross-functional discussions from scientific aspects. As a person, you are passionate about scientific research with high quality, and enjoy seeing a product move through the development stages and finally reaching the market. You are driven, communicative, and flexible. You are also prestigeless and have a collaborative approach.
