Your role and responsibilities

This position reports to R&D Unit Lead.
You will be mainly accountable for:
You design, develop, and implement analog and digital circuits from concept phase to serial production
Your tasks include the PCBA schematic layout creation, technical risks identification, validation, and execution of the new design ideas by simulation and prototype testing. To make the successful handover to production engineering for industrialization, you provide proper technical documentation
You check that all hardware complies to the published product standards and performances
You collaborate closely with product owner, product management, system architects and software developers to breakdown market requirements to product requirements for hardware
You monitor technology developments and product technologies to identify technical drivers for R&D projects, supported by your thorough understanding of key business drivers for ABB's products and solutions
You participate in internal and external networks to expand your knowledge of your area of expertise
You take responsibility for hardware development activities, as (senior) member, including risk identification, alignment with targets, and close coordination with suppliers and other functions (e.g. product management)
You contribute to discussions of intellectual property and secure patent rights for ABB by driving the IP creation

Qualifications for the role
M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems or comparable field
At least 2 years of experience in development of electronics within embedded systems as a hardware design engineer
Sound knowledge in designing electronic circuits, circuit diagrams, and working with simulation tools
Knowledge in EMC compatible design would be considered a plus
Willingness to travel internationally (<5%)
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential (C1); Swedish language skills (B2) are beneficial but not a prerequisite
