The Volvo Articulated Hauler is a clear market leader and a valuable asset in the Volvo product portfolio. The strategy is to remain as a clear leader through a continuous development and extension of the product offer through multiple new development projects. We are now looking for a Technical Product Manager who will be the technical decision maker in all development projects.

Medium Hauler Platform department is a part of the Hauler Product Platform organization within VCE Technology, with the responsibility of the medium hauler product range, A25/A30. As the product owner, the department is accountable for the QDCF of the machines and that the products are configured in an optimized way to meet the customer needs and business expectations as well as the internal product targets. The department is also responsible for product road maps, the future product strategies and to participate in competitor comparison and analysis. The department is involved in all areas of the product life cycle, from participating in the governance forums of the current production machines as well as being accountable for the future development of complete machines and the related applications/attachments in line with the company strategy.

Job description
The Technical Product Manager owns the product targets and is responsible for the products total life cycle performance. The main responsibility is to confirm that the Articulated Hauler has the optimal performance, functionality and cost level to meet the business requirements. To do this the Technical Product Manager is a member of the cross-functional project management team taking all technical decisions in the project in agreement with the Project Manager Engineering. Within the projects, the TPM also act as the product owner and defines the targets, requirements and characteristics for the machine systems and components to have an optimal, balanced and profitable machine. The TPM is responsible for the cross-functional technical forums within the projects, takes active parts in trade off debates and to document the decisions and evaluations.

Risk management from the product perspective is a natural part in the daily work and also raising deviations from strategy, product plan and product targets.

The authority of the TPM is to approve verification and validation activities and also formal approval of all product design changes.

Qualification
University degree MSc/BSc in Engineering or equivalent
High technical knowledge of vehicles including applicable sub-systems such as powertrain, hydraulics, structures, electronics etc. including the system integration
Customer focus and good analytical skills to understand the true need of customers
Experience and/or willingness to operate machine to be able to evaluate machine functionality
Experience from Project Management
Proficient in written and spoken English
