Quantitative Solutions (QS) is a centre of excellence within the AAC for high quality delivery of advanced analytics services, tasks and tools.
We are seeking a Senior Modelling and Simulation Specialist to join our team of likeminded colleagues, solving challenging technical problems.

As a Senior Modelling & Simulation Specialist you will be part of the Quantitative Solutions team providing advanced solutions in support of the drug development portfolio, for example:
* Trial design simulations
* Network meta-analyses
* Data visualisations
* Ad-hoc clinical trial data analysis
* Technical expertise on tool development to staff within QS, AAC & AstraZeneca
You will be responsible for providing technical expertise and consultancy for projects in the AAC on modelling & simulation, providing the business with a range of innovative solutions to a variety of technical questions in drug development.
You'll join a truly global team that pulls together to put patients first. Working with some of the most respected statistical programming, statistics, information practice and advanced analytics experts in the industry. As part of a small development team you will be responsible for planning, building & maintaining robust, repeatable solutions and contributing to the development of new software tools, for frequently occurring analyses. This will include determining project scope, documenting requirements and ensuring the quality of tools provided.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will provide technical consultancy on a wide range of statistical analyses, including modelling & simulation, on an individual basis or with a team of statisticians working in the same field.
Working alongside others, you will contribute to the development of new software tools, including stakeholder interactions, requirements analysis, proof of concept, user acceptance testing and project management; ensuring that our tools are developed and validated to AstraZeneca and regulatory standards.
You will take responsibility for selected tools initiated within the AAC, using them to provide solutions to questions from ongoing clinical trials. You will also be responsible for improving the productivity, scalability and ease of use of existing tools and solutions.
You will demonstrate a high standard of attention to quality, including best practice record keeping, project management, documentation and adherence to standards.
Requirements
We are seeking collaborative colleagues who enjoy technically challenging work. You'll be a confident communicator who can share your ideas and engage with stakeholders.
Essential
* MSc or PhD in biostatistics, mathematics, informatics or related subject
* Experience of modelling, simulation and statistical computing, primarily using R
* Broad understanding of clinical drug development & the pharmaceutical environment
Desirable
* Experience, or understanding, of end-to-end software tool/solution development and lifecycle management
