Titel: Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Laboratory Science with focus in Hematology and Clinical Chemistry
Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter: SPECIFIC SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: Biomedical Laboratory Science is a theoretical and laboratory discipline, with an emphasis on laboratory and research methodology of diagnostic purposes. Biomedical Laboratory Science is the major for biomedical scientist and the main area for bachelors and master's degrees. JOB ASSIGNMENTS: The position includes extensive teaching in the biomedical scientist programme. The teaching comprises basic laboratory methodology, biochemistry and clinical chemistry methods as well as hematology. The employee will be course coordinator for the course module basic and clinical laboratory science and examiner for course modules within the programme. The course coordinator will be responsible for managing and developing courses within the programme. The programme wants to have a close collaboration with the clinical laboratories. The employee shall have a connection with the health care. For the current position, a connection within clinical chemistry and hematology is in first place. The employee shall be prepared to act as coordinator for the clinical training and continuously interact with the clinical laboratories in all areas. The programme has an international profile and the position might also include responsibility for this work.
Beskrivning av kvalifikationer: ELIGIBILITY: The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. For a position as senior lecturer the applicant must have a PhD degree and demonstrated pedagogical skills. The applicant must hold a qualification as a biomedical laboratory scientist. ASSESSMENT: Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Primarily, teaching skills will be considered, since the tasks will mainly be teaching within the biomedical laboratory science programme. The ability to lead and plan training and carry out teaching in hematology and clinical chemistry will be important for the assessment of pedagogical skills. Demonstrated experience as instructors for courses in the program is a particular advantage. Proven experience in clinical laboratory work in clinical chemistry and hematology will be a highly compelling merit. International experience and knowledge of clinical education will also be a highly compelling merit. In relation to the tasks personal characteristics, such as flexibility and accuracy will be of importance, as well as the ability to cooperate. Also, administrative capacity will be considered. The successful applicant may also be asked to complete an educational programme within the first year of employment.
