We are looking for our next Senior Infrastructure Engineer who wants to join our journey in bringing our already great multi-region OpenStack platform to the next level! If a terabit of internet, hundreds of gigs between our datacenters, a global load balancer setup and well over 100.000 vCPU's in our multi-region OpenStack platform sounds interesting, then we think this might be just the right place for you.
At Kindred we see challenges as an opportunity to do something in a better way both personally and professionally. Our purpose is to transform gambling by being a trusted source of entertainment that contributes positively to the society. Our ambition is to reach 0% revenue from harmful gambling by 2023. Our success is built on trust; we trust each other to deliver on our promises and believe giving ownership and responsibility at all levels is the way to make the right choices for Kindred and our customers.
The role:
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Kindred, you will contribute to making Kindred the No.1 Gambling/Entertainment operator across all markets.
The team consists of 10 (11 with you) Engineers and everything we do aims towards designing and building a best-in-class hybrid platform for all our brands. We design, code, and operate both tools and systems to reduce the amount of time and effort necessary for our engineers to provide the best platform services for all our brands. We are strong believers in engineering teams taking operational responsibility for their products and working hard to support them in this. The team works closely with engineers to advocate sensible, scalable systems, and design and share responsibility with them in diagnosing, resolving, and preventing production issues.
We offer a place where creative mindsets, whiteboard pens and clever thinking drives our solutions forward; where technology, combined with creativity, experience and collaboration from colleagues, turns into something special.
The technology: Openstack, ceph, ansible, nginx, envoy-proxy, anycast, ECMP, exabgp, jenkins and tons of others.
What you'll do:
As a member of our multi-functional squad, you'll be responsible for specific infrastructure missions at Kindred
Design and document systems, including writing and reviewing code, to automate solutions within your team's domain
Create designs, road maps and strategies aligned with our vision
Undertake measured, strict, troubleshooting of complicated systems and potentially resolve time-critical incidents
Build automation and deliver scalable infrastructure
Work with problem management and capacity planning
To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
Solid experience as an Infrastructure Engineer/Systems Engineer of similar scope, type, and complexity
Proven technical experience and a solid foundation in operating systems
A mastery of Linux. This means: you know why things work on a Linux system, not just how to configure them
Experience with storage, monitoring, working with virtual servers and virtual networks
A creative mindset and can do personality with a hands-on approach and desire to deliver
Fluent verbal and written English
If this sounds like you and as a bonus you also have ...
A degree in computer science or a related field
Familiarity with OpenStack
Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
Experience with Python and/or other programming/scripting languages
