The daily work is done in close cooperation with the members of the simulation and engineering team. Do you want to join us in creating Engineering excellence through simulations?
The group System Analysis & Simulation of consists of 13 simulation engineers within 4 different areas; 3D CFD analysis, EATS analysis, 1D flow system analysis and Virtual test rig simulations. The overall mission for our simulations is to minimize fuel consumption (CO2) and emissions and improve features and quality.
Work description
Our flow simulation engineers perform different kinds of simulation like gas exchange simulations, 3D CFD simulations, coolant system analysis, oil system analysis, spray analysis, etc. Our main tools are GT-Suite, StarCCM+ and Matlab. You also need to analyse simulation results, recommend improvements and design solutions, perform concept studies, present the results to the internal customers. We work in teams to cooperate with other simulation engineers for exchange of simulation results as input to their simulations or to get input to your simulation.
Some example of tasks in our team are: exhaust gas flow simulation for performance, engine Brake studies, fuel efficiency analysis, valve system selection, turbo matching, heat management analysis for minimizing emissions, performance concept studies, coolant flow design optimization for efficient thermal management, support other simulation activities with data and results. The results should be well communicated to contribute to system and component development and recommendations for project studies and evaluations. All simulations are documented with engineering reports. You should also continuously contribute to improvements of our simulation methods.
