As a Senior Data Engineer at Sambla Group you will be part of the responsibility over the orchestration, security work and integrations of all things data. You will get to work with all departments at Sambla Group, and work with modern cloud based technologies in GCP such as BigQuery, Pubsub, Cloud run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Build and artifact registry as well as other tools like dbt, prefect and Terraform. You will be part of the Data Engineering team and report to the Head of Data Engineering.
Examples of responsibilities:
Design, build and administer data integrations and data pipelines that feed our data products (streaming, batch, api endpoints).
Ensure data security and GDPR compliance.
Ensure data quality, data governance and product uptime.
Develop and maintain Data Platform and Data Warehouse (BigQuery)
Architect cloud solutions and data models.
Experience:
Preferably 2-5 years of work experience within data engineering or similar roles, or proven experience showing that you have:
Strong technical understanding and experience. Can pick things up as they are and take responsibility for that.
Strong working experience with communication, understanding of business requirements and stakeholder management.
Working end to end with a larger project from planning to implementation.
Must have:
Working experience in Python, eg. pyspark/polars, flask/fastapi,
Working experience with SQL, e.g. joins, group by, CTEs, Window/Analytic Functions
Working experience in cloud technologies, (GCP/AWS), preferably in GCP
Working experience with version control e.g. Git.
Working experience in stakeholder management, both technical/non-technical.
Project management experience, eg. screening/scoping/planning.
Nice to have:
Experience with CI/CD (CircleCI, Jenkins, Github Actions).
Experience with logging, monitoring and observability.
Experience from the Fintech industry.
Understanding of Data Modelling & Data Warehousing, e.g. dimensional modelling, data vault, SCD etc.
Understanding of the marketing data space and the platforms used (SEM, Social, Affiliate, Marketing Automation etc.).
Programming skills in Scala, Java, Rust or similar.
Experience with coaching coworkers.
