We are currently looking for an ambitious and driven person for a position as Senior Accountant. Our client company is an international organization working primarily within petroleum and lubricants.
Areas of responsibilities
Ensure that business assets and G/L accounting activities have functional integrity, proper controls and are well managed.
Legal and group accounting, close process, compliance, legal reporting and group reporting, annual reports, accounts payable (control but not responsible for salary, travel & living expenses) tax, VAT
Maintain an efficient accounting system and processes to produce accurate, timely financial data.
Review and streamline accounting process to ensure and improve operation efficiency
Responsible for integrity of business accounting policies and procedures compliance (e g account reconciliations, VAT submissions, tax returns, revenue recognition, accruals, financial policies e t c)
Responsible for oversight on all processes linking into financial reporting Identify new accounting standards applicable to the business and develop appropriate implementation strategy
With internal control lead - ensure strong internal control system in place Ownership of closing and reporting processes in accordance to local and US/IFRS GAAP
Lead the monthly close process & data submissions to UK Head office for the country
Account reconciliations
Local statutory filing requirements and other legal required reporting
Ensure Stat-to-GAP Recons are performed.
Statutory and group accounting for the country
Group reporting
Quarterly balance sheet reviews
Annual report and tax return
VAT submissions
Accounts Payable
Qualifications:
5-6 years of relevant experience
High experience in legal accounting and reporting
High compliance awareness
Experience within auditing/accounting including experience from a multi- national environment under US-GAAP and IFRS
Result oriented, highly motivated
High & unyielding integrity with proven leadership record
Analytical and critical thinker
Be able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
A team player, proactive, able to communicate effective with all levels
Fluent English communication capability, hands-on experiences of PC operation
High energy level

This position requires a trustworthy candidate with high integrity and a flexible mind.
Excellent communications skills are also important for this role.
