We are looking for a creative, skilled scientist with strong understanding of emulsification processes, dispersed systems, surface and colloid chemistry, and strong laboratory orientation. You will, as part of R&D, contribute to development of leading products which are used in the manufacturing of vitally important biological drug therapies.

Essential Responsibilities

The role is with the Particle Design section of the BioProcess Media department, BioProcess R&D. The section's main activities are focused on the design and characterization of structured particles for chromatographic separation of biomolecules.

More specifically your tasks will include:

• Act as technical specialist in the field of particle technology/dispersed systems
• Identify, implement new emulsification technology and follow the technical development in the field
• Independently plan and accomplish given tasks, to reach given project objectives
• Solve problems of "trouble shooting character" in project work
• Act as supervisor
• Identify and lead external collaborations
• Document and report results both orally and written

Qualifications/Requirements

• PhD or equivalent in polymer, physical, colloid, surface or materials chemistry (or related fields)
• Experience from working with dispersed systems, e.g. emulsions and suspensions
• Experience from supervising personnel
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
• Experience from laboratory work and report writing, enthusiasm to spend a large part of time in laboratory work
• English and Swedish as working languages
• EU work permit
