The department of Quality and Product Safety Compliance (Q&PSC) is now looking for a Safety Compliance Engineer Electric and Electronics.
About us
The Q&PSC department are responsible for two major areas:
Quality:
Leading the Volvo Penta management system including the internal and external audit plans. Quality assurance including the product quality as from a customer point of view, handling audit results, product deviations, and in rare cases, delivery stop of products from our factories.
Increasing activity is connected to customer visits around Quality matters.
Product Safety Compliance:
Regulatory Change Management where we actively follow the development of new product safety regulation's in order to support Product Planning with correct information regarding future product requirements and project target values as well as ensuring product/project compliance with applicable legislation over time.
We are present at all stages of product development with targets and requirements to secure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards. The introduction of electromobility into our marine and industrial applications brings new safety risks and new regulatory environments and this area will be a vital key for our further success over the coming next years.
An important part of the group responsibility is to handle type approval and product certification of marine and industrial products.
The function is owner of the Core value Safety and is a member of the Volvo Penta Product Safety Committee.
Q&PSC are today nine colleagues in the group and part of the function Quality, Environment and Product Compliance in Volvo Penta.
Position description
Are you passionate about sustainability where safety plays an important part? Are you interested in working and affecting future safety regulations for marine and industrial E/E products?
Do you:
• have experience in working with safety regulations and compliance for E/E system and products?
• appreciate to assess safety compliance for E/E products based on hazard and risk analysis, safety cases and conformance to standards?
If so you might be the one we are searching for!
In this vital position you will be present at all stages of planning and product development that are effected by safety regulations; from influencing new regulations / standards together with other stakeholders in society, through implementing these new requirements in Volvo Penta's processes, projects and products, and finally follow-up of targets and requirements. Since interaction with both external and internal contacts is crucial for achieving results, good networking and communication skills are of high importance.

Core responsibilities
• Establish regulatory targets and compliance requirements for new E/E systems and projects together with Product Planning
• Experts in product safety for electric drive system used in marine and industrial applications
• Responsible for coordinating certification of E/E drivelines and systems
• Assessment of compliance documentation
• General competence for safety and ability to lead safety assessments
Desirable experience and qualifications
• Master of Science degree or similar level of education
• Experience within the field of Product Safety with deep knowledge in electrical safety
• Experience from Volvo project management model and knowledge in new agile working methods (SAFe)
• A structured and accurate way of working
• Fluent in Swedish and English is a minimum. Other language skills are welcome
• Good communication skills, both in terms of reports, presentations and in social contexts such as meetings and discussions
