Retail Area Manager, Sweden & France

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at By Malene Birger AB as new Retail Area Manager (RAM) being overall responsible for increasing the retail turnover in each By Malene Birger store in Sweden and France, and to ensure targets are met on both sales and opex.

The responsibility includes 2 own Retail stores, 2 concession stores as well as 1 Retail outlet store in Barkaby in Sweden. Furthermore 1 retail store and 1 concession store in France. The direct management responsibility includes all Store Managers in these stores.

Retail is a key driver in By Malene Birger's brand building efforts and the RAM will have a close cooperation with the Country Sales Manager Sweden/Finland as well as the Retail Excellence Manager at By Malene Birger 's HQ at Copenhagen.

It is vital that the RAM follows the individual store's performances closely every day and is a close leader and motivator to the Store Managers. Reaching and ideally exceeding sales targets should be a fundamental natural sales drive. Therefore, discussions of what can be done to reach the daily and weekly targets and a motivational effort to support this, is a core task.

You set high standards for both yourself as well as for your Store Managers and are willing to put in the extra effort to succeed in retail. You know that it takes constant follow-up, strong leadership, motivation, visibility and action to succeed and to lift retail performance.

Main goals:

Ensure sales, KPI's and Opex targets are achieved for all BMB stores
Ensure BMB has the best staff in all stores and that the employee turnover is low
Secure a positive "can do" team spirit
Secure a first class sales and customer service in all stores - including visual appearance
Create a supportive culture about securing a seamless Omnichannel consumer experience
Skills & Requirements

Competences needed in the job:

High Sales & Performance orientation
High personal drive, and an action oriented approach
Proactive and great executor
BMB Ambassador - Strong understanding of BMB Business & brand universe
Solid retail experience from a similar job
Ideally experience from fashion - as Retail Area Manager, Retail Operations Manager or
Senior Store Manager
Well-structured and good at prioritizing and delegating tasks.
Ideally experience with sales training
Extrovert personality with good communication skills and abilities of building strong relationships
Experience with managerial tasks, such as planning/organizing, budgeting and people management
Authentic and trustworthy manager - what you say is what you do
Good leadership skills, including ability to set direction and motivate own employees
Able to work under high pressure and adhere to deadlines
