In the Middle East region, Diakonia works in three countries and has a total of about thirty employees with a mix of local and international staff members. In the region, Diakonia works with two main programs; Strengthening of civil society organizations, as well as a program to increase the knowledge for International Humanitarian Law, (IHL)
Role and responsibilities:
Your main task is in close cooperation with the regional management to lead and develop HR in the MENA Region and within the Global IHL program, provide operational HR support to the Country Directors/Country Office, the Regional Director/Regional Office and the IHL desk managers within the Global IHL program. You ensure that a professional and harmonized HR approach is applied across the MENA Region and the Global IHL program based on Diakonia's policies and steering documents in compliance with local laws.
Main duties and responsibilities:
• Operational HR, recruitment and admin support to all levels of directors and managers in the MENA Region and the Global IHL Program.
• Within given frames develop HR-strategies and HR-systems.
• Competence/Skill planning and supply.
• Implementation of Global Policies, Steering documents and HR-policies together with relevant training.
• Be updated in relevant Legislation, Labor laws and Tax regulations.
• Manage HR administration; contracts and permits both local and international solutions.
Experience and qualifications:
• University degree in HRM, Behaviorial science or equivalent.
• Fluent in speech and writing in English and Arabic.
• Experiences with broad HR issues in similar responsibilities, such as HRBP.
• Experience of working in an international organization.
You are:
• A self-driven team player with a "do-er"-mentality.
• Problem solver with a consultative approach integrity and ethics.
• Effective and have strong communications and interpersonal skills.
• Able to travel to all country offices in the MENA Region.
This is a plus:
• Fluent in Swedish.
• Legal background / knowledge.
• Experience in the MENA region.

Location: Stockholm, Sweden - Travels to Country offices approximately 6 times a year.
Start date: As soon as possible
Employment type: Fixed term: 2 years with possible extension. Local employment conditions apply.
