Raw material market prices are volatile. Within Volvo Group Purchasing Division and Business Controlling Department, Raw Material team mission is to develop and deploy raw material market expertize, tools, methods and governance that enable Purchasing to secure and enhance its raw material related performance and thus to provide a competitive advantage to the Volvo Group trucks brands.
As Raw Material Cost Analyst for Europe, your mission is to control raw material costs and provide market impact visibility to the given Purchasing Continental organization. You are a Business Partner to this organization. You are part of a global team of Raw Material Specialists, Cost Analysts, Controller & Data Administrator and you report to Director Raw Material.
Responsibilities
• Understand parts' suppliers raw material cost structure, supply chains and process technology
• Understand and follow-up the local Raw Material market dynamics (e.g. ferrous metals, base metals, precious metals, plastics, rubbers)
• Translate market forecast information to cost impact forecast at segment, supplier and part level
• Analyze and validate purchasing part prices adjustments depending on the raw material market prices
• Support Buyers in negotiation
• Track our performance versus market and establish recovery plans
• Support the Raw Material Specialists in settling or renewing Raw Material contracts with parts' suppliers
• Contribute to build the Raw Material performance yearly budget, quarterly forecast updates and monthly closures
Authorities
• Act to fulfill the above described tasks and responsibilities
• Validate the Raw Material cost variances for Europe
Location
Preferred location for this position is Lyon or Goteborg.

Qualifications
• University degree in finance/business control, engineering or related field
• Preferably min 2-5 years of experience with international cross-cultural exposure
