The position will be located in Västerås, Sweden.

Purpose of the job:

Our division Propulsion & Controls (PPC) is responsible for delivering propulsion and control systems in the front edge of technology to a worldwide market. Our systems are the heart, the brain and the muscles of the train.

As a Reliability, Availability and Maintainability/ Life Cycle Cost (RAM/LCC) engineer with us you will be responsible for evaluating and communication the customer requirements to the project team. You will participate from the project start trough the design process to production. Your responsibility is to represent the RAM/LCC in the projects and be part in leading the field to develop cutting edge technology for customers all over the world.

It is important that you have an understanding of traction drive systems and a genuine interest for developing products to fit customer needs. In this role you have the chance to make an impact on the designs of our future products.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide complete RAM/LCC awareness within the projects.
• Make sure all RAM/LCC, internal and external requirements are communicated within VAPPC.
• Make sure all RAM/LCC standards, local/national and norms are fulfilled.
• Provide cost and schedule estimates on complicated engineering programs.
• Provide RAM/LCC expertise in support of other departments and less experienced engineering personnel when it comes to RAM/LCC issues.
• Elaborate RAM-Management-plans for projects and perform risk-analysis for projects and bids
• Allocation of customer requirements to main systems and single components.
• Collaboration with all related functions regarding RAM/LCC; interface to project management and system engineering.
• Performing technical negotiations with suppliers, customers and partner.
• Performing RAM/LCC analysis, studies and benchmarks as well as collection and analysis of field data. Identification and analysis of problems in the RAM/LCC field and elaboration of solutions
• Participation in Design Reviews in order to feedback field experience into the concept work for new projects.

Qualifications:

• A master or a bachelor degree in electrical, mechanical or control engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Five to eight years experience within a similar role.
• Experience with FME(C)A, FTA and RBD.
• Strong communication skills and enjoy driving things.
• Fluent in English and preferably also Swedish. Other languages are beneficial.
You are a self-starter and have strong communication and negotiation skills.
You are creative, have an eye for details and enjoy working with others.
