In this role you will be part of Technology and Solutions Development in Ludvika. The MACH Control and Protection platform R&D department is a part of Hitachi ABB Power Grids, Technology and Solutions Development and is responsible for the development of state-of-the-art control system platform for HVDC and FACTS applications. The MACH Control and Protection department in Ludvika has around 80 employees, focusing mainly on Hardware and Software design, working in close collaboration with global MACH C&P organization.
Your responsibilities
You will prepare test plans for the verification and validation of new products (Functional tests) and also for the testing of System Software releases for MACH.
Support the test team and act as a technical expert and reviewer for developing test specification, testcases, test applications etc. based on product requirements, system implementation proposals and international standards.
Support in planning the test environment and suggest changes keeping in mind our core values of safety and integrity.
Mapping test cases according to requirements, planning and executing testcase enhancements for improved test coverage will be one of your main objectives.
Contributing in various meetings such as release planning meetings, release delivery meetings, SCRUM meetings and automation meetings will be part of your responsibility.
Contribute to automating tests using our test automation framework to improve efficiency and quality.
You may have other duties such as but not limited to acting as process leader for test related processes.
You will constantly learn and understand the changing customer needs and development in the field and thus support the team to ensure the quality of the MACH system.
Your background
To succeed and thrive, you need an attention to details while still being able to grasp the bigger picture.
Equally important is your ability to work individually as well as in teams, and to take leadership of assigned tasks.
You hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical engineering, Electronics engineering, or another related field, and have an equivalent experience.
An ISTQB certification, knowledge of software and/or hardware testing as well as more than 5 years of experience from embedded system testing will be to your advantage.
Knowledge of graphical programming tools such as Hidraw, MACH platform, scripting languages and measurement instruments is qualifying, as is the experience of Test automation frameworks, Microsoft OS, SQL, and Microsoft Team Foundation Server or Devops.
Proficiency in English is a must.
