R&D Director
Systems Development
As R&D Director Systems Development at Biotage your main responsibility is active management of the department and the overall design of Biotage instrument development. The main responsibilities are to lead, plan, coordinate and follow up the department activities and ensure effective use of department resources, lab facilities and equipment. The team consists of 15 professionals including consultants within mechanical, electrical, system test & verification, software and technical writing. You are responsible for programs such as cost of goods reduction programs and R&D related product care issues. You chair the R&D Management Meetings and control key cost center?s within the R&D budget as well as strategically contributing to the overall Roadmap for R&D development projects. You report to the Chief Scientific Officer and are based in Uppsala, Sweden.
Qualifications:
MSc or BSc or equal in mechanical or electronics design.
Excellent command of English and Swedish, both oral and written.
At least three years of leadership experience from systems design projects; either project management or line management

You have a strong focus on development and execution and a drive to succeed or even exceed challenging goals. We also expect that you have business awareness and an ability to translate business needs into practice.
