Your future team
EEVC department is a department of 135 highly skilled engineers working on our flag ship Volvo FM FH trucks with Diesel, BEV, Fuel cell and H2ICE platforms.
We develop concept to fully industrialized electrical engineering solutions in the Wiring, Power management, HMI & sensor areas.
What you will do
As quality manager for the department, you will report to the chief of electrical engineering. You will analyze fault reports from the field and from projects in each development area. You will monitor and ensure that the issues are resolved. You will give input on whether an issue is related to engineering design or due to other factors, and for engineer issues you will lead the development of timely solutions to mitigate impact to our customers.
Who are you
You are a highly driven individual with a focus on quality. You are collaborative and will encourage a mindset for quality and ownership in the management team, and with the engineers.
You are a good guide and coach to engineers in executing quality tools and using the volvo systems. You are an expert at communicating the status and implications outside engineering to business stakeholders. You have worked in the automotive industry for at least 10 years, and have experience in engineering design and with using quality tools.
Competencies
* Background working on Quality
* Experience in electrical engineering in the automotive context, minimum 10 years
* Experience on wiring harness design, routing packaging is preferred
* Experience on Power electronics such as alternators, Batteries, disconnect switches, fuse and relay centers is preferred

In this role as EEVC quality manager you will have worked in the automotive industry with a specialization in electrical engineering - Wiring harnesses, power electronics, Control panels, sensors, Sofware etc and you will be responsible to work with the chief engineer and the electrical department of 135+ electrical engineers on proactive and reactive quality. You will work with the managers and engineers to drive a quality mindset in the development - encouraging the use of quality tools and leading and facilitating thier use in the design process. You will also work with field quality and help determine root cause - manucaturing defects, supplier defects or engineering design, and will initiate and lead engineering changes needed to solve engineering design issues in the field. You will report statistics on project quality items and field quality items and suggest ways of moving KPIs in the right direction for better quality through product, process and personnel solutions.
