Innovative Purchasing is a newly formed function within Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP). Our responsibilities lie mainly in scouting innovation, new technologies and new organizational developments but also to drive and be responsible for the sustainable purchasing program of the Volvo Group.
In the last few years, Sustainability has rapidly grown in importance. Companies and purchasing organizations that embrace the power of sustainability, especially when it comes to selecting business partners such as suppliers, foster positive brand awareness and develop a competitive advantage in terms of attracting investors, customers and employees.
The mission of the Sustainability function of GTP is to be the:
Interpreter - ensuring awareness of best practices and tools and their implementation into GTP
Shock absorber - interpreting complex sustainability issues and contextualising them into GTP
Force multiplier - Engaging with the GTP employee base, to enable participation towards the GTP and Volvo Group Sustainability goals
See-er - Understanding the medium and long-term sustainability issues and how these impact the organisation
Conscience - we are the conscience of GTP! Asking questions where needed, challenging practices and ensuring that GTP continues to have a progressive sustainability agenda.
As Sustainability Manager within GTP, you will be part of a team driving the Sustainability mission and agenda for GTP. By your understanding of our company's and GTP 's business model and ability to identify opportunities and risks from a Sustainability perspective, you will take actions that affect our business, processes and most important - our supply chain. You have the capacity to anticipate consequences on the business and thereby creating long-term value.
Mission and Responsibilities
• Actively contribute and take part in the buildup, implementation and roll-out of the sustainable purchasing program of GTP through various projects
• Act as a true change agent in terms of supporting GTP in driving the Sustainability agenda, administrating new and relevant KPI:s measuring true value and impact
• Absorbing and consolidating sustainability business intelligence and translating it into GTP value
• Staying connected to the Volvo Group overall Sustainability strategy
• Securing that the Sustainable purchasing programs is included and well described in the GTP processes, in close collaboration with GTP BO&IT

Competence
• Masters or bachelor university degree in a scope related field
• Eager to learn and work with your own development. Be the best and strive to be humbly perfect!
• Leadership capabilities in terms of being a true influencer and inspirational role-model. This job is all about networking and trust
• Excellent language and communication skills - passion is everything and being able to make people understand our mission!
• Min. 5 years' experience from the automotive sector and supply chain. Ability to structure and analyze high amount of data and draw conclusions
• Preferably some experience in the area of CSR, Environment, human rights and /or legal/international humanitarian law. Either way you need to have a great interest in the area, being able to see the business value of sustainable actions
• Self-manager and being able to execute with strong confidence
• High integrity, be a true change agent and be agile
