We at Outokumpu in Degerfors are searching for a driven and risk-aware engineer to strengthen our Testing laboratory in ensuring our stainless steel maintains the highest quality. At Outokumpu in Degerfors, safety comes first, and we always work quality-consciously. In the role of Testing Engineer, you will lead the Testing department and work to ensure that our processes are conducted following ISO 17025, current "STAFS" and regulated methods. The laboratory tests our products for corrosion resistance, mechanical, and metallurgical properties. In close collaboration with the head of the Testing department and your colleagues, you lead and participate in continuous improvement, work environment, and safety efforts in the lab.
This is full-time employment beginning at the soonest convenience and ending on 31/12/21. The working hours are daytime.

Participate in Outokumpu's safety work
Work to maintain our accreditation against ISO17025
Method development
Audit work
Deviation management and investigation of complaints
Participate in and lead improvement activities and projects
Who are you?
To succeed well in the role of Testing Engineer, we believe that you have post-secondary education in material and/or testing technology. It's an advantage if you also have knowledge in safety and work environment issues, ISO 17025, quality assurance, and management systems.
We believe that you are a person with a lot of self-drive who enjoys collaborating with your team and reaching shared objectives. You are quality-conscious, have a strong customer focus, and are happy to share your skills and knowledge. We would like you to have previous experience of working in an industrial environment. Required to qualify for this role:
Engineering degree focused in material technology, metallurgy, testing technology, work environment, and safety or equivalent
Basic knowledge of common testing standards and methods
Confident IT user
Strong interest in metallurgical topics and industries
It is required that you are fully fluent in both the Swedish and English languages
