Being part of Battery Optimization and Monitoring - Technology
Battery Optimization and Monitoring - Technology is a function within Volvo Energy that works with second life applications of vehicle battery packs, monitoring and data analytics, optimization of remaining useful life, battery safety and new offerings for stationary Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Working in very close cooperation with our colleagues from Volvo Group and especially Group Trucks Technology, we create new business offer opportunities as well as value propositions.
What are we looking for in this specific role?
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team, poised to lead end-to-end deployments of our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). As a driving force in our team, you will take ownership from project planning to fundamental design creation and cost assessments. Your expertise will be the compass guiding our projects from start to finish.
Additional responsibilities will include among others:
Leading a wide scope of activities, from project initiation and request for proposal (RFP) to sizing, optimization, contracting, commissioning, and operations lifecycle.
Providing essential designs (containers, stacks, DC and AC collection) to project execution teams, ensuring the successful construction of the project.
Working closely with internal and external product engineers to offer support to cross-functional teams.
Serving as a key resource for addressing product/design/solution related issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
Taking ownership of driving the product lifecycle development, including design reviews, to ensure the seamless progression of development activities.

Qualifications likely required to be successful
University degree in electrical engineering, renewable engineering, or a related field.
Several years of systems design and field operations experience in BESS, power systems, or PV solar system projects.
Experience in overseeing the complete lifecycle of energy storage projects
Knowledge of power conversion systems
Familiarity with SCADA, Modbus, and networking applications.
Ability to create system designs, single lines, and block diagrams.
Understanding of li-ion battery technologies/systems and overall battery system design and architecture.
Fluent in English, written and spoken.
